Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P/BMV Industrials Select, Consumer Goods & Services and S&P/BMV Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.31% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 5.21% or 9.26 points to trade at 186.97 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 3.31% or 0.91 points to end at 28.40 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) was up 2.33% or 0.71 points to 31.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 5.02% or 0.93 points to trade at 17.61 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) declined 2.21% or 12.62 points to end at 558.60 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) down 1.73% or 3.17 points to 180.01.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 125 to 116 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Shares in Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) fell to all time lows; losing 5.02% or 0.93 to 17.61. Shares in Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.31% or 0.91 to 28.40.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.42% or 12.10 to $2,888.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.59% or 0.42 to hit $71.03 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.37 to trade at $74.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.52% to 20.54, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.02% to 21.21.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 107.95.
