Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P/BMV Health Care, S&P/BMV Consumer Staples and S&P/BMV Telecommunication Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD), which rose 2.70% or 5.38 points to trade at 204.59 at the close. Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) added 1.56% or 0.55 points to end at 35.71 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was up 1.31% or 0.16 points to 12.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB), which fell 2.55% or 14.74 points to trade at 563.42 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) declined 2.07% or 2.02 points to end at 95.50 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) down 1.61% or 4.93 points to 300.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 68 to 53 and 21 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.18% or 4.20 to $2,342.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $80.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $85.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 18.44, while EUR/MXN rose 0.17% to 19.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.88.
