Benzinga - Thursday’s trading session witnessed a dynamic shift in the NIFTY 500 index. The top performer of the day was Engineers India (NS:ENGI), while Sanofi India (NS:SANO) trailed at the bottom

Engineers India emerged as the star performer with a significant 12.30% surge in its stock price. The stock closed at ₹195.90, a substantial leap from its previous close at ₹174.45. LIC (NS:LIFI) owns a 2.87% stake in the PSU.

Following closely was Sobha Developers (NS:SOBH), which saw a robust 12.02% increase. The stock ended the trading session at ₹1,402.05, up from its last close at ₹1,251.60.

Other notable gainers included IRB Infrastructure Developers and NCC, which saw their stock prices increase by 9.18% and 8.85% respectively. IRB Infrastructure Developers closed at ₹58.90, while NCC ended the day at ₹237.35.

Conversely, Sanofi India was the biggest loser, with its stock price falling by 2.24% to ₹7,535.75. This was a significant drop from its last close at ₹7,708.45.

Cera Sanitaryware followed closely, witnessing a 2.59% decline in its stock price to ₹6,811.15. The stock had previously closed at ₹6,992.55. Rainbow Children’s Medicare also experienced a downturn, with its stock price falling by 2.76% to ₹1,241.65. The stock had last closed at ₹1,276.85.

Other underperformers included Tata Investment Corporation and Metro Brands, which saw their stock prices decrease by 3.05% and 3.83% respectively. Tata Investment Corporation closed at ₹6,275.30, while Metro Brands ended the day at ₹1,130.15.
