Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Warehousing and Transportation Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.32%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Komatsu Ltd. (T:6301), which rose 2.58% or 60.0 points to trade at 2383.0 at the close. Nippon Yusen K.K (T:9101) added 2.57% or 5.0 points to end at 199.5 and Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (T:7735) was up 2.30% or 29.0 points to 1287.5 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Matsui Securities Co., Ltd. (T:8628), which lost 7.83% or 74.0 points to trade at 871.0 in late trade. Sony Financial Holdings Inc. (T:8729) declined 5.06% or 79.0 points to end at 1482.0 and Dentsu Inc. (T:4324) shed 4.79% or 260.0 points to 5170.0.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1291 to 633 and 139 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 8.46% to 19.47 a new 1-month low.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.80% or 0.37 to $45.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.55% or 0.26 to hit $47.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.75 to trade at $1338.95 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY was up 0.07% to 100.82, while EUR/JPY rose 0.07% to 113.00.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.35.
