Japan shares lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 0.09%

Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp , Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were IHI Corp. (T: 7013 ), which rose 2.86% or 71.0 points to trade at 2556.0 at the close. Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (T: 9064 ) added 2.66% or 46.0 points to end at 1774.5 and Sony Corp (T: 6758 ) was up 2.10% or 134.0 points to 6510.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. (T: 5201 ), which lost 4.18% or 150.0 points to trade at 3435.0 in late trade. Central Japan Railway Co. (T: 9022 ) declined 2.60% or 605.0 points to end at 22705.0 and Keio Corp. (T: 9008 ) shed 2.59% or 180.0 points to 6770.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2139 to 1348 and 247 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 15.71.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.77% or 0.41 to $52.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.56% or 0.33 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.95 to trade at $1494.95 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.03% to 108.78, while EUR/JPY rose 0.16% to 120.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.710.
