Japan shares higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 0.36%

Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining , Shipbuilding and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Tokuyama Corp. (T: 4043 ), which rose 9.70% or 48.0 points to trade at 543.0 at the close. Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (T: 5202 ) added 5.50% or 47.0 points to end at 901.0 and Nisshinbo Holdings Inc. (T: 3105 ) was up 3.75% or 41.0 points to 1134.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (T: 6703 ), which lost 4.24% or 69.0 points to trade at 1559.0 in late trade. Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (T: 4506 ) declined 3.07% or 49.0 points to end at 1549.0 and Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (T: 8233 ) shed 2.95% or 33.0 points to 1085.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1966 to 1164 and 333 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 0.07% to 13.73.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.83% or 0.36 to $43.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.96% or 0.44 to hit $46.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.18 to trade at $1252.58 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.28% to 111.55, while EUR/JPY rose 0.22% to 125.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 96.73.
