Italy shares lower at close of trade; Italy 40 down 2.45%
Credit: © Reuters. – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 declined 2.45% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Italy 40 were Recordati (MI: RECI ), which rose 0.54% or 0.16 points to trade at 30.02 at the close. Tenaris (MI: TENR ) fell 0.48% or 0.07 points to end at 14.62 and Luxottica Group SpA (MI: LUX ) was down 0.74% or 0.42 points to 56.14 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Banco Bpm SpA (MI: BAMI ), which lost 6.47% or 0.128 points to trade at 1.851 in late trade. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI: UBI ) declined 4.94% or 0.1580 points to end at 3.0420 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI: FBK ) shed 4.79% or 0.54 points to 10.73.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 347 to 35 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.67% or 0.50 to $73.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.95% or 0.80 to hit $83.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.34% or 16.10 to trade at $1189.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1477, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8785.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.52.
