Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 1.84%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.84% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI: STM ), which rose 1.98% or 0.280 points to trade at 14.410 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI: TLIT ) fell 0.24% or 0.0012 points to end at 0.5020 and Recordati (MI: RECI ) was down 0.58% or 0.17 points to 28.93 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI: TENR ), which lost 4.22% or 0.62 points to trade at 14.07 in late trade. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI: US ) declined 4.04% or 0.081 points to end at 1.910 and Azimut Holding (MI: AZMT ) shed 3.69% or 0.47 points to 12.14.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 337 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.20% or 1.61 to $71.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.33% or 1.94 to hit $81.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 2.40% or 28.60 to trade at $1222.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1577, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8771.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 94.87.
