Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the FTSE Italia Telecommunications, FTSE Italia All Share Financials and FTSE Italia Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR), which rose 6.76% or 1.05 points to trade at 16.51 at the close. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) added 5.57% or 5.65 points to end at 107.10 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 3.46% or 0.78 points to 23.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI), which fell 5.31% or 2.28 points to trade at 40.56 in late trade. Inwit (BIT:INWT) declined 5.25% or 0.54 points to end at 9.65 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) down 4.78% or 0.30 points to 5.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 300 to 268 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Shares in DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.57% or 5.65 to 107.10. Shares in Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) fell to 3-year lows; down 4.78% or 0.30 to 5.98.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.10% or 0.07 to $72.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.68% or 73.65 to trade at $2,676.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.82% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.67% at 105.04.
