Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the FTSE Italia Technology, FTSE Italia Oil & Gas and FTSE Italia Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which rose 0.93% or 0.95 points to trade at 102.75 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) added 0.81% or 0.24 points to end at 30.01 and Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) was up 0.59% or 0.36 points to 61.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII), which fell 3.81% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.66 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 2.98% or 1.13 points to end at 36.78 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) down 2.77% or 0.33 points to 11.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 338 to 139 and 51 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.85% or 1.50 to $79.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.53% or 1.30 to hit $83.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.09% or 51.45 to trade at $2,404.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
