Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the FTSE Italia All Share Travel & Leisure, FTSE Italia All Share Industrials and FTSE Italia All Share Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which rose 5.46% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.31 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) added 5.25% or 0.70 points to end at 14.13 and Banco Bpm SpA (BIT:BAMI) was up 5.19% or 0.44 points to 9.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which fell 1.57% or 0.28 points to trade at 17.56 in late trade. Snam SpA (BIT:SRG) added 0.99% or 0.05 points to end at 4.68 and Enel (BIT:ENEI) up 1.23% or 0.09 points to 7.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 451 to 89 and 37 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.86% or 0.53 to $60.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.59% or 0.38 to hit $64.38 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 26.74 to trade at $3,217.86 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 99.37.
