Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the FTSE Italia All Share Financials, FTSE Italia All Share Industrials and FTSE Italia Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which rose 6.72% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.03 at the close. UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) added 4.79% or 1.56 points to end at 34.16 and Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) was up 3.78% or 2.14 points to 58.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which fell 0.47% or 0.47 points to trade at 99.68 in late trade. Interpump Group (BIT:ITPG) declined 0.27% or 0.10 points to end at 36.88 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) up 0.18% or 0.05 points to 28.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 385 to 118 and 34 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Interpump Group (BIT:ITPG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.27% or 0.10 to 36.88.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.21% or 2.35 to $75.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.79% or 2.13 to hit $78.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.10 to trade at $2,434.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 103.00.
