Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the FTSE Italia All Share Chemicals, FTSE Italia Technology and FTSE Italia All Share Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which rose 5.71% or 0.26 points to trade at 4.89 at the close. Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) added 3.80% or 0.82 points to end at 22.38 and Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) was up 3.59% or 0.18 points to 5.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which fell 2.83% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.34 in late trade. Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) declined 0.70% or 0.40 points to end at 56.54 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) down 0.53% or 0.26 points to 48.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 310 to 184 and 47 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.21% or 0.17 to $82.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.19 to hit $86.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.60% or 37.30 to trade at $2,370.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.93.
