Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the FTSE Italia All Share Industrials, FTSE Italia Telecommunications and FTSE Italia All Share Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 3.06% or 0.76 points to trade at 25.62 at the close. Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT) added 2.96% or 0.01 points to end at 0.25 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) was up 2.57% or 0.06 points to 2.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which fell 0.91% or 0.95 points to trade at 103.00 in late trade. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) declined 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Hera (BIT:HRA) down 0.87% or 0.03 points to 3.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 279 to 236 and 52 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.57% or 0.06 to 2.55.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.97% or 1.35 to $69.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.52% or 1.10 to hit $73.29 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 38.06 to trade at $2,756.46 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 106.24.
