Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the FTSE Italia Oil & Gas, FTSE Italia All Share Chemicals and FTSE Italia All Share Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which rose 2.25% or 0.11 points to trade at 5.17 at the close. Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT) added 1.41% or 0.29 points to end at 20.90 and Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI) was up 1.35% or 0.30 points to 22.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which fell 1.02% or 0.85 points to trade at 82.80 in late trade. Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) declined 0.60% or 0.08 points to end at 13.98 and Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) down 0.50% or 0.26 points to 52.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 258 to 223 and 39 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.60% or 0.08 to 13.98.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.37% or 1.82 to $78.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.90% or 1.51 to hit $81.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.24% or 30.60 to trade at $2,504.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.99.
