Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the FTSE Italia All Share Travel & Leisure, FTSE Italia Utilities and FTSE Italia Telecommunications sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII), which rose 9.00% or 0.42 points to trade at 5.06 at the close. Hera (BIT:HRA) added 1.68% or 0.06 points to end at 3.74 and Ferrari NV (BIT:RACE) was up 1.15% or 5.10 points to 450.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which fell 2.09% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.20 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 1.80% or 0.44 points to end at 23.72 and Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) down 1.56% or 0.22 points to 13.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 315 to 195 and 49 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
Shares in Hera (BIT:HRA) rose to 3-year highs; rising 1.68% or 0.06 to 3.74.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.90% or 0.63 to $69.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.11% or 0.82 to hit $72.75 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.25% or 36.21 to trade at $2,859.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 107.22.
