Indonesia shares higher at close of trade; Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite up 0.16%

Investing.com – Indonesia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Industry , Basic Industry and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Jakarta, the Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite rose 0.16%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Jakarta Stock Exchange Composite were Merdeka Copper Gold TBK PT (JK: MDKA ), which rose 20.00% or 325 points to trade at 1950 at the close. Greenwood Sejahtera Tbk (JK: GWSA ) added 17.02% or 16 points to end at 110 and Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (JK: MEDC ) was up 12.97% or 155 points to 1350 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Mahaka Radio Integra Tbk PT (JK: MARI ), which lost 9.93% or 70 points to trade at 635 in late trade. Nusantara Inti Corpora Tbk (JK: UNIT ) declined 9.80% or 24.00 points to end at 221.00 and Bank Qnb Indonesia Tbk (JK: BKSW ) shed 9.74% or 34 points to 315.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 145 to 143 and 93 ended unchanged on the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.55% or 0.61 to $38.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.74% or 0.71 to hit $40.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1220.00 a troy ounce.

USD/IDR was up 0.25% to 13361.0, while AUD/IDR fell 1.81% to 9926.35.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 95.94.
