Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Saturday, as losses in the Real Estate, Auto and Fast Moving Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.33%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharat Electronics Ltd (NSE:BAJE), which rose 1.17% or 3.24 points to trade at 280.07 at the close. State Bank Of India (NSE:SBI) added 0.66% or 4.80 points to end at 727.85 and NTPC Ltd (NSE:NTPC) was up 0.53% or 1.75 points to 331.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shriram Finance Ltd. (NSE:SHMF), which fell 2.73% or 17.40 points to trade at 619.55 in late trade. Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NSE:HROM) declined 2.25% or 81.10 points to end at 3,529.15 and Tata Motors Ltd (NSE:TAMO) down 1.92% or 12.80 points to 655.50.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which rose 0.67% to 727.75, ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was up 0.62% to settle at 1,250.25 and NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which gained 0.48% to close at 331.70.
The worst performers were Zomato Ltd (BO:ZOMT) which was down 1.97% to 201.40 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which lost 1.95% to settle at 655.40 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 1.84% to 672.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 0 to 0; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 0 fell and 0 advanced on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.01% to 13.28 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.33% or 9.80 to $3,001.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.95% or 0.63 to hit $67.18 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.70 to trade at $70.58 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.05% to 86.94, while EUR/INR rose 0.30% to 94.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.71.
