Anand Rathi Soars On Strong Q1: SEBI RA Rajneesh Sharma Sees Breakout Beyond ₹2,300
Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.30%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NSE:HDFL), which rose 1.57% or 12.20 points to trade at 788.00 at the close. Bharat Electronics Ltd (NSE:BAJE) added 1.25% or 4.80 points to end at 390.20 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NSE:BJFN) was up 1.24% or 114.00 points to 9,285.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ITC Ltd (NSE:ITC), which fell 2.97% or 12.90 points to trade at 421.00 in late trade. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK) declined 1.93% or 15.80 points to end at 804.90 and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NSE:APLH) down 1.89% or 133.50 points to 6,940.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 1.17% to 9,280.00, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 0.67% to settle at 1,856.35 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which gained 0.45% to close at 1,660.00.
The worst performers were ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which was down 3.04% to 420.70 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which lost 2.01% to settle at 804.55 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which was down 1.80% to 11,215.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1194 to 1182 and 37 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1970 rose and 1827 declined, while 151 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
Shares in HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NSE:HDFL) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.57% or 12.20 to 788.00. Shares in Bharat Electronics Ltd (NSE:BAJE) rose to all time highs; up 1.25% or 4.80 to 390.20.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.89% to 18.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 14.96 to $3,343.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.97% or 0.59 to hit $61.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.56 to trade at $64.13 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.03% to 85.33, while EUR/INR rose 0.12% to 96.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 99.45.
