Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.04%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK), which rose 1.35% or 16.65 points to trade at 1,246.60 at the close. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) added 1.34% or 25.35 points to end at 1,914.10 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) was up 1.33% or 24.45 points to 1,865.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN), which fell 1.40% or 104.50 points to trade at 7,335.55 in late trade. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (NS:ONGC) declined 1.29% or 4.20 points to end at 322.00 and Infosys Ltd (NS:INFY) down 1.20% or 23.60 points to 1,940.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which rose 1.37% to 1,246.90, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was up 1.15% to settle at 1,861.30 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which gained 0.85% to close at 3,617.00.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which was down 1.29% to 7,340.10 in late trade, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which lost 1.28% to settle at 1,939.00 and JSW Steel Ltd (BO:JSTL) which was down 0.93% to 931.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 1271 to 1181 and 26 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1921 rose and 1853 declined, while 110 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
Shares in SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) rose to all time highs; up 1.34% or 25.35 to 1,914.10. Shares in Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.33% or 24.45 to 1,865.00. Shares in Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.15% or 21.20 to 1,861.30.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.96% to 13.93.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 1.00 to $2,526.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.58% or 1.16 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.24% or 1.74 to trade at $75.78 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.05% to 83.96, while EUR/INR fell 0.30% to 92.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 101.79.
