Germany shares mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.02%
Credit: © Reuters. – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources , Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance , Construction and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.02%, while the MDAX index added 0.20%, and the TecDAX index added 0.23%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE: TKAG ), which rose 4.12% or 0.890 points to trade at 22.490 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE: BAYGN ) added 1.34% or 1.55 points to end at 117.60 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE: DTEGn ) was up 0.97% or 0.170 points to 17.650 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Linde AG O.N. (DE: LING ), which lost 1.48% or 2.50 points to trade at 166.95 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE: BASFN ) declined 1.15% or 1.020 points to end at 87.330 and Continental AG O.N. (DE: CONG ) shed 1.04% or 2.15 points to 205.50.

The top performers on the MDAX were Krones AG O.N. (DE: KRNG ) which rose 2.21% to 113.200, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE: BOSSn ) which was up 1.87% to settle at 71.430 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE: WCHG ) which gained 1.83% to close at 103.00.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (DE: UN01 ) which was down 2.01% to 15.875 in late trade, Deutsche Euroshop AG (DE: DEQGn ) which lost 1.60% to settle at 37.580 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE: HNRGn ) which was down 1.06% to 106.95 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE: AIXGn ) which rose 6.46% to 5.557, Evotec AG O.N. (DE: EVTG ) which was up 2.60% to settle at 13.225 and Siltronic AG (DE: WAFGn ) which gained 2.38% to close at 79.990.

The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE: DRWG_p ) which was down 2.69% to 101.400 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE: DRIG ) which lost 1.76% to settle at 56.440 and Wirecard AG (DE: WDIG ) which was down 1.25% to 55.450 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 408 to 349 and 14 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.88% to 12.27.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.58% or 7.15 to $1237.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.1073, while EUR/GBP rose 0.80% to 0.8576.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 98.15.
