Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the DAX Utilities, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Technology and DAX Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.29%, while the MDAX index lost 0.39%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.15%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 10.22% or 19.85 points to trade at 214.00 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 2.07% or 0.47 points to end at 23.16 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.95% or 0.29 points to 15.18 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 1.75% or 1.00 points to trade at 56.10 in late trade. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 1.33% or 0.50 points to end at 36.68 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) down 0.96% or 0.56 points to 57.72.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 3.58% to 24.28, flatexDEGIRO AG (ETR:FTKn) which was up 2.00% to settle at 20.40 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 1.78% to close at 12.56.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 3.19% to 63.80 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 2.77% to settle at 16.49 and RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which was down 2.70% to 50.49 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 10.22% to 214.00, 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was up 2.75% to settle at 15.68 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 1.78% to close at 12.56.

The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 9.09% to 65.00 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 4.94% to settle at 30.40 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.10% to 33.78 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 389 to 240 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Shares in E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.95% or 0.29 to 15.18. Shares in Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.09% or 6.50 to 65.00.

The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.11% or 100.91 to $3,341.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.81% or 1.11 to hit $62.44 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.10 to trade at $65.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.92% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 99.19.
