Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Food & Beverage, DAX Retail and DAX Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Basic Resources and DAX Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.29% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index declined 0.25%, and the TecDAX index added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 8.57% or 2.50 points to trade at 31.68 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 4.51% or 29.60 points to end at 686.00 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 2.51% or 6.20 points to 253.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 3.60% or 1.88 points to trade at 50.34 in late trade. Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) declined 2.02% or 1.14 points to end at 55.16 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) down 1.83% or 0.71 points to 38.01.
The top performers on the MDAX were SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which rose 3.48% to 24.40, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was up 3.20% to settle at 183.80 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 2.08% to close at 24.05.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.29% to 12.07 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 2.77% to settle at 7.74 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which was down 2.76% to 16.89 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which rose 2.92% to 22.90, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was up 1.86% to settle at 24.14 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.77% to close at 11.52.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.29% to 12.07 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 2.77% to settle at 7.74 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.26% to 14.03 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 302 to 292 and 41 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; up 4.51% or 29.60 to 686.00.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.20% to 14.56.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.36% or 37.06 to $2,754.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.37% or 1.08 to hit $77.63 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 1.01 to trade at $81.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 108.81.
