Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Utilities, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Software and DAX Industrial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.02%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.34%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 3.89% or 1.09 points to trade at 28.98 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.23% or 0.47 points to end at 14.95 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was up 2.04% or 0.66 points to 32.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 2.16% or 1.44 points to trade at 65.26 in late trade. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.66% or 2.00 points to end at 118.50 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) down 1.57% or 8.20 points to 515.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 4.05% to 2.44, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was up 3.18% to settle at 5.91 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 3.08% to close at 25.13.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 4.89% to 87.50 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 3.58% to settle at 11.59 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.47% to 59.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 2.88% to 6.07, PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was up 2.10% to settle at 11.68 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 1.99% to close at 235.50.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 4.89% to 87.50 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 4.88% to settle at 132.60 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 3.58% to 11.59 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 338 to 278 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.47% or 1.50 to 59.20.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 8.97% to 17.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 12.60 to $2,538.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $69.45 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.27 to trade at $72.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.09.
