Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Media, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Software sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Utilities, DAX Construction and DAX Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.47%, while the MDAX index lost 0.68%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which rose 3.73% or 1.98 points to trade at 55.04 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) added 1.17% or 0.51 points to end at 44.08 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 1.14% or 0.86 points to 76.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 5.39% or 1.63 points to trade at 28.63 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 4.62% or 2.40 points to end at 49.50 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) down 4.52% or 0.50 points to 10.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which rose 19.78% to 55.10, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 3.30% to settle at 46.96 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 2.07% to close at 45.40.
The worst performers were Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was down 9.26% to 26.45 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 6.29% to settle at 63.42 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 6.22% to 11.92 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 3.30% to 46.96, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 2.07% to settle at 45.40 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which gained 1.82% to close at 30.14.
The worst performers were IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which was down 2.03% to 21.75 in late trade, 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which lost 2.01% to settle at 11.68 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 1.87% to 42.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 406 to 207 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.52% or 0.50 to 10.56. Shares in Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) fell to 3-year lows; down 6.29% or 4.26 to 63.42.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.31% to 15.44.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.19% or 31.99 to $2,722.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.37% or 2.49 to hit $76.41 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 3.37% or 2.59 to trade at $79.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 109.50.
