Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Industrial and DAX Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.41%, while the MDAX index fell 0.47%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 4.32% or 10.30 points to trade at 249.00 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 1.76% or 0.38 points to end at 21.68 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was up 1.67% or 1.60 points to 97.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 4.65% or 15.30 points to trade at 313.60 in late trade. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 4.63% or 43.20 points to end at 889.60 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) down 2.53% or 1.55 points to 59.63.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which rose 6.48% to 212.00, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 2.20% to settle at 5.95 and Knorr-Bremse AG (ETR:KBX) which gained 2.14% to close at 81.25.
The worst performers were Krones AG O.N. (ETR:KRNG) which was down 6.64% to 123.80 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.86% to settle at 45.30 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 3.05% to 117.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 4.32% to 249.00, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 3.80% to settle at 61.40 and Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which gained 2.01% to close at 30.50.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.86% to 45.30 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 3.05% to settle at 117.50 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 2.45% to 12.36 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 369 to 247 and 35 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.80% or 2.25 to 61.40.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.91% to 19.88 a new 6-month high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.70% or 20.69 to $2,956.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.05% or 0.76 to hit $72.86 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.82 to trade at $76.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 106.46.
