Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Chemicals, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Telecom and DAX Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.12% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.59%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 2.92% or 0.95 points to trade at 33.50 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 2.83% or 1.29 points to end at 47.00 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was up 2.70% or 1.62 points to 61.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 6.52% or 22.80 points to trade at 327.10 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 2.22% or 0.63 points to end at 27.72 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) down 2.17% or 0.65 points to 29.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 6.03% to 56.30, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was up 4.50% to settle at 213.60 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.93% to close at 35.97.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 3.16% to 12.89 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 2.99% to settle at 2.69 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 2.54% to 73.64 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 6.03% to 56.30, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 5.96% to settle at 53.30 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 4.51% to close at 49.80.
The worst performers were IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which was down 2.24% to 24.05 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 2.17% to settle at 29.35 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.83% to 43.74 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 316 to 296 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.96% or 3.00 to 53.30.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.56% to 14.52.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.55% or 15.09 to $2,780.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.39% or 0.29 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $78.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.99% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 107.04.
