Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Technology and DAX Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.63%, while the MDAX index declined 0.78%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 2.66% or 0.83 points to trade at 31.99 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 2.02% or 3.30 points to end at 166.60 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.82% or 23.00 points to 1,288.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe), which fell 4.44% or 1.81 points to trade at 38.97 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) declined 4.04% or 1.80 points to end at 42.76 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) down 3.31% or 2.18 points to 63.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 3.36% to 45.50, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was up 2.23% to settle at 7.43 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which gained 2.11% to close at 58.20.
The worst performers were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 6.13% to 13.24 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 4.48% to settle at 7.93 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 4.17% to 66.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Formycon AG (ETR:FYB) which rose 4.94% to 26.55, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 3.36% to settle at 45.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 1.76% to close at 15.64.
The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.98% to 120.60 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 3.95% to settle at 12.42 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 2.71% to 64.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 366 to 240 and 35 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.82% or 23.00 to 1,288.00.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.83% to 22.81 a new 6-month high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.49% or 44.04 to $2,990.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.37% or 0.93 to hit $66.75 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.89 to trade at $70.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 103.75.
