’Fasten your seatbelts’— BTIG strategists warn of coming turbulence
Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Telecom and DAX Industrial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.58%, while the MDAX index lost 1.02%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 3.37% or 1.39 points to trade at 42.62 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 2.81% or 1.19 points to end at 43.49 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 1.57% or 0.57 points to 36.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 5.80% or 103.00 points to trade at 1,671.50 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 3.62% or 3.12 points to end at 83.02 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (ETR:MUVGn) down 2.19% or 12.60 points to 562.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which rose 2.93% to 27.40, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 2.27% to settle at 13.07 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 1.96% to close at 65.10.
The worst performers were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which was down 11.74% to 68.26 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 6.11% to settle at 90.70 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was down 3.61% to 76.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which rose 7.57% to 24.74, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 2.51% to settle at 41.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.27% to close at 13.07.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.11% to 90.70 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 2.09% to settle at 32.84 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 1.33% to 28.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 304 to 300 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.33% to 19.07.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 9.03 to $3,345.87 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.74% or 0.48 to hit $65.77 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.49 to trade at $67.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 99.03.
