Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Chemicals and DAX Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.58%, while the MDAX index declined 0.73%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 2.60% or 0.77 points to trade at 30.33 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.24% or 1.14 points to end at 51.98 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.92% or 11.60 points to 615.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN), which fell 2.51% or 1.07 points to trade at 41.53 in late trade. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) declined 2.15% or 1.68 points to end at 76.42 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) down 2.05% or 0.40 points to 18.99.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 2.96% to 27.80, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.52% to settle at 8.54 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 1.28% to close at 11.90.
The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 4.34% to 125.60 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 3.56% to settle at 42.58 and Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was down 3.13% to 8.11 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 2.52% to 8.54, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.28% to settle at 11.90 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 1.19% to close at 68.30.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 2.48% to 9.45 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 2.30% to settle at 30.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.01% to 14.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 400 to 215 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.21% to 15.61.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 13.61 to $2,655.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.94 to hit $74.07 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.59 to trade at $76.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 108.78.
