Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the DAX Construction, DAX Insurance and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.57%, while the MDAX index declined 0.45%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 7.93% or 60.00 points to trade at 817.00 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) added 2.60% or 2.10 points to end at 82.96 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 1.35% or 0.26 points to 19.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 5.21% or 2.45 points to trade at 44.55 in late trade. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 2.61% or 6.70 points to end at 250.40 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) down 2.51% or 0.96 points to 37.26.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 11.91% to 40.78, Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which was up 3.26% to settle at 53.90 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 2.43% to close at 30.30.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 8.95% to 15.15 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which lost 4.08% to settle at 29.60 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which was down 3.40% to 18.74 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 11.91% to 40.78, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 4.33% to settle at 20.50 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 1.82% to close at 45.82.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 8.95% to 15.15 in late trade, 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which lost 7.05% to settle at 11.60 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 4.08% to 29.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 341 to 280 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 7.93% or 60.00 to 817.00. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.35% or 0.26 to 19.59. Shares in Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.26% or 1.70 to 53.90.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.80% to 17.95 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.19% or 34.94 to $2,910.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.56% or 0.40 to hit $70.89 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.16 to trade at $74.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 106.61.
