Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the DAX Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and DAX Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.25%, while the MDAX index declined 0.89%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 3.84% or 8.20 points to trade at 222.00 at the close. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) added 0.90% or 0.35 points to end at 39.07 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was up 0.58% or 1.30 points to 224.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 3.20% or 2.94 points to trade at 88.92 in late trade. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) declined 3.20% or 1.27 points to end at 38.44 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) down 2.22% or 1.30 points to 57.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 2.90% to 14.91, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was up 1.50% to settle at 30.55 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 1.19% to close at 41.60.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 5.18% to 6.51 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which lost 4.56% to settle at 238.40 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.28% to 13.56 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 2.90% to 14.91, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.41% to settle at 7.23 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 1.34% to close at 60.60.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.28% to 13.56 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 3.01% to settle at 16.41 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 2.52% to 13.16 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 406 to 208 and 44 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.58% or 1.30 to 224.00. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.19% or 0.49 to 41.60.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.88% to 17.23.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 27.60 to $2,783.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.30 to trade at $70.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.23.
