Germany shares lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.23%
Credit: © Reuters. – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages , Consumer & Cyclical and Software sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.23%, while the MDAX index lost 0.22%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.23%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE: BAYGN ), which rose 1.50% or 1.08 points to trade at 72.90 at the close. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE: TKAG ) added 1.48% or 0.280 points to end at 19.245 and E.ON SE NA (DE: EONGn ) was up 0.88% or 0.077 points to 8.857 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Linde AG 1 (DE: LIN1 ), which lost 2.49% or 4.9000 points to trade at 192.2000 in late trade. Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE: HNKG_p ) declined 2.36% or 2.50 points to end at 103.55 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE: FREG ) shed 1.26% or 0.800 points to 62.800.

The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE: SDFGn ) which rose 2.81% to 18.480, Gerresheimer AG (DE: GXIG ) which was up 2.12% to settle at 77.250 and Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE: B4B ) which gained 1.78% to close at 13.7100.

The worst performers were Rocket Internet (DE: RKET ) which was down 3.19% to 26.70 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE: DHER ) which lost 2.65% to settle at 43.40 and Scout24 AG (DE: G24n ) which was down 2.21% to 41.580 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE: AM3D ) which rose 3.05% to 21.95, Drillisch AG (DE: DRIG ) which was up 1.78% to settle at 42.280 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE: COKG ) which gained 1.67% to close at 40.220.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE: AIXGn ) which was down 2.00% to 9.986 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE: SHLG ) which lost 1.39% to settle at 38.00 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE: DLGS ) which was down 1.09% to 19.420 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 369 to 317 and 96 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.20% to 15.40.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.10 to $1207.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $68.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.03 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1688, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8888.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 94.07.
