Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software, Insurance and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.07%, while the MDAX index added 0.38%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 3.79% or 0.470 points to trade at 12.885 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.76% or 0.164 points to end at 6.100 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) was up 2.55% or 3.300 points to 132.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which lost 1.07% or 0.38 points to trade at 35.19 in late trade. Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) declined 0.55% or 0.850 points to end at 153.750 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN) shed 0.33% or 0.500 points to 152.200.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.01% to 18.955, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 3.40% to settle at 86.340 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which gained 2.72% to close at 49.400.
The worst performers were Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which was down 1.68% to 70.170 in late trade, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which lost 1.48% to settle at 27.980 and Krones AG O.N. (DE:KRNG) which was down 1.47% to 87.000 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 3.05% to 44.280, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 1.91% to settle at 18.450 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which gained 1.74% to close at 5.559.
The worst performers were Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 0.65% to 183.950 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 0.59% to settle at 101.150 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 0.32% to 24.137 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 565 to 305 and 20 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.55% to 18.72.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.52% or 6.85 to $1320.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.49 to hit $46.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.68 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8525.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 95.96.
