Germany shares higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.07%

Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources , Retail and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.07% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.20%, and the TecDAX index added 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE: DBKGn ), which rose 2.53% or 0.380 points to trade at 15.380 at the close. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE: TKAG ) added 2.53% or 0.595 points to end at 24.145 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE: BASFN ) was up 2.46% or 2.090 points to 87.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE: PSMGn ), which lost 0.32% or 0.120 points to trade at 37.270 in late trade. Vonovia SE (DE: VNAn ) declined 0.22% or 0.08 points to end at 36.27 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE: RWEG ) shed 0.02% or 0.005 points to 20.155.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE: WCHG ) which rose 3.60% to 94.63, Zalando SE (DE: ZALG ) which was up 2.97% to settle at 44.73 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE: SDFGn ) which gained 2.59% to close at 23.955.
The worst performers were Deutsche Euroshop AG (DE: DEQGn ) which was down 1.14% to 37.195 in late trade, STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE: STAGn ) which lost 0.93% to settle at 63.750 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE: DWNG ) which was down 0.48% to 35.045 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Drillisch AG (DE: DRIG ) which rose 3.46% to 54.700, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE: S92G ) which was up 3.33% to settle at 27.175 and Qiagen NV (DE: QGEN ) which gained 2.12% to close at 30.885.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE: NDXG ) which was down 1.62% to 11.560 in late trade, Xing AG (DE: OBCGn ) which lost 0.37% to settle at 242.95 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE: DRWG_p ) which was down 0.28% to 99.620 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 569 to 175 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.07% to 12.10 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.56% or 7.09 to $1249.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.16 to hit $44.81 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.13 to trade at $47.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8761.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 97.15.
