Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Chemicals, DAX Industrial and DAX Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.09% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.93%, and the TecDAX index added 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which rose 7.26% or 15.40 points to trade at 227.45 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 6.44% or 6.04 points to end at 99.78 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 6.06% or 4.62 points to 80.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which fell 1.55% or 0.53 points to trade at 33.59 in late trade. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 0.31% or 0.06 points to end at 19.16 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) down 0.25% or 0.07 points to 28.38.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 12.69% to 29.58, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was up 7.77% to settle at 74.66 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 7.23% to close at 54.90.
The worst performers were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 2.55% to 12.41 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which lost 2.39% to settle at 114.30 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 0.88% to 79.05 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 7.23% to 54.90, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 3.88% to settle at 8.84 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 3.15% to close at 42.60.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 2.95% to 59.15 in late trade, IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which lost 2.94% to settle at 23.15 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 1.55% to 33.59 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 380 to 232 and 36 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) rose to all time highs; rising 7.26% or 15.40 to 227.45.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.16% to 16.81.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 14.91 to $2,943.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $71.36 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $75.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 107.27.
