Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Industrial and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.53%, while the MDAX index added 0.90%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 7.34% or 2.28 points to trade at 33.28 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 5.93% or 12.50 points to end at 223.30 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 5.79% or 2.09 points to 38.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 1.76% or 1.77 points to trade at 99.08 in late trade. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) declined 1.60% or 0.47 points to end at 28.84 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) down 1.49% or 9.20 points to 606.40.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 5.87% to 11.27, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was up 5.32% to settle at 29.70 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 5.11% to close at 24.49.
The worst performers were AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which was down 4.48% to 14.92 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 2.39% to settle at 13.86 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 1.96% to 5.92 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 9.81% to 75.00, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 7.34% to settle at 33.28 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 5.93% to close at 223.30.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 1.64% to 27.62 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 1.60% to settle at 28.84 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 0.95% to 43.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 403 to 215 and 39 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.67% to 15.50.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 3.30 to $2,651.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.18% or 0.13 to hit $74.09 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.16 to trade at $76.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 108.10.
