Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Chemicals and DAX Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.52% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 1.48%, and the TecDAX index added 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN), which rose 7.24% or 3.27 points to trade at 48.35 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) added 5.27% or 2.86 points to end at 57.14 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 5.10% or 1.81 points to 37.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 5.66% or 42.40 points to trade at 706.40 in late trade. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 3.21% or 1.35 points to end at 40.55 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) down 2.20% or 0.66 points to 29.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which rose 7.43% to 80.25, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was up 7.35% to settle at 68.90 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 7.11% to close at 27.87.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.16% to 36.88 in late trade, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 4.95% to settle at 12.68 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.01% to 13.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which rose 5.92% to 59.95, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 5.27% to settle at 57.14 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 5.10% to close at 37.31.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 6.16% to 36.88 in late trade, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which lost 3.21% to settle at 40.55 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.01% to 13.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 409 to 208 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.92% or 3.35 to 59.95.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.65% to 16.27.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.61% or 17.51 to $2,875.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.28% or 0.20 to hit $70.83 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.14 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 107.67.
