Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.26% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.57%, and the TecDAX index added 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 6.94% or 4.40 points to trade at 67.78 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 6.72% or 2.06 points to end at 32.69 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was up 6.59% or 2.98 points to 48.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG), which fell 1.64% or 1.65 points to trade at 98.90 in late trade. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 1.35% or 0.45 points to end at 32.90 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) down 1.23% or 3.50 points to 281.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 8.47% to 88.62, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 7.51% to settle at 70.85 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 5.66% to close at 36.94.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.14% to 18.53 in late trade, GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which lost 1.12% to settle at 44.30 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 1.06% to 65.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 10.80% to 88.25, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 7.51% to settle at 70.85 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 6.72% to close at 32.69.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.14% to 18.53 in late trade, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which lost 1.63% to settle at 66.50 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 0.71% to 15.99 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 415 to 231 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.50% to 15.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.91% or 24.50 to $2,670.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.90% or 0.61 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.49 to trade at $71.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 100.19.
