Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the DAX Retail, DAX Financial Services and DAX Food & Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.99%, while the MDAX index added 1.38%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 4.11% or 1.12 points to trade at 28.35 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 3.66% or 2.66 points to end at 75.24 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was up 3.06% or 0.78 points to 26.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 1.23% or 0.68 points to trade at 54.64 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 1.20% or 0.53 points to end at 43.67 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) down 1.00% or 2.50 points to 246.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 9.21% to 20.99, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 7.26% to settle at 2.14 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 6.08% to close at 36.96.
The worst performers were Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 3.10% to 43.75 in late trade, Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which lost 1.43% to settle at 18.95 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 1.25% to 39.38 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 6.08% to 36.96, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 6.04% to settle at 21.76 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 3.54% to close at 21.06.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 4.63% to 15.45 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 0.54% to settle at 74.10 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 0.53% to 112.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 373 to 236 and 40 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) fell to 3-year lows; down 1.25% or 0.50 to 39.38. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.63% or 0.75 to 15.45.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 7.48% to 13.56.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.79% or 18.70 to $2,386.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.20% or 0.98 to hit $82.39 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.74 to trade at $85.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.72.
