IT stock jumps 4% after securing multi-million-dollar digital banking deal in Africa
Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Industrial, DAX Software and DAX Food & Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.78%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.02%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which rose 4.64% or 12.90 points to trade at 291.10 at the close. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) added 4.49% or 2.50 points to end at 58.24 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 3.78% or 6.30 points to 172.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn), which fell 4.79% or 1.57 points to trade at 31.18 in late trade. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 2.73% or 0.97 points to end at 34.52 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) down 1.71% or 0.40 points to 22.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 5.65% to 26.57, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 3.92% to settle at 55.70 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.88% to close at 36.98.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 2.49% to 22.73 in late trade, flatexDEGIRO AG (ETR:FTKn) which lost 1.30% to settle at 21.18 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.84% to 35.48 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which rose 4.81% to 58.80, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 2.37% to settle at 112.30 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which gained 2.09% to close at 46.84.
The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 4.79% to 31.18 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 3.93% to settle at 132.00 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.57% to 37.02 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 399 to 220 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.90% to 23.91.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.65% or 55.15 to $3,293.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.19% or 0.12 to hit $62.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.14 to trade at $66.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 99.26.
