Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Retail, DAX Consumer & Cyclical and DAX Food & Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.68%, while the MDAX index added 0.71%, and the TecDAX index added 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 6.52% or 14.90 points to trade at 243.30 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 3.80% or 17.90 points to end at 489.30 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 2.70% or 4.20 points to 159.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN), which fell 2.31% or 1.03 points to trade at 43.74 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) declined 1.25% or 0.19 points to end at 15.06 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) down 0.73% or 0.64 points to 87.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.93% to 20.54, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 4.25% to settle at 19.36 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 3.91% to close at 5.90.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 7.77% to 93.48 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 7.73% to settle at 3.57 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 2.93% to 24.54 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 6.52% to 243.30, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.93% to settle at 20.54 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 3.23% to close at 14.07.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.17% to 74.50 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 0.75% to settle at 31.84 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 0.72% to 33.26 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 394 to 207 and 32 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to 3-year lows; falling 7.73% or 0.30 to 3.57.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.15% to 15.72.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.33% or 31.30 to $2,384.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.42% or 1.11 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 1.26 to trade at $81.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
