Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the DAX Telecom, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Industrial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.67% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.14%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which rose 2.03% or 1.14 points to trade at 57.36 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 1.92% or 0.55 points to end at 29.20 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) was up 1.80% or 1.00 points to 56.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG), which fell 3.71% or 5.20 points to trade at 134.95 in late trade. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 1.65% or 0.65 points to end at 39.00 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) down 0.91% or 2.30 points to 249.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.43% to 26.65, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 3.92% to settle at 16.69 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.68% to close at 37.72.
The worst performers were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was down 1.73% to 90.90 in late trade, SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which lost 1.16% to settle at 23.78 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 0.86% to 11.49 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 3.92% to 16.69, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 2.86% to settle at 42.50 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.12% to close at 12.50.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.73% to 22.10 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 1.89% to settle at 114.40 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.65% to 39.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 397 to 225 and 37 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) fell to 3-year lows; down 3.71% or 5.20 to 134.95.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.31% to 17.15.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.41% or 40.79 to $2,928.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.07% or 1.47 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.37 to trade at $76.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 108.11.
