Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the DAX Media, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.64%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.60%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which rose 3.35% or 0.57 points to trade at 17.60 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 3.27% or 1.61 points to end at 50.84 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.15% or 0.36 points to 17.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 3.21% or 3.20 points to trade at 96.40 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 2.75% or 6.70 points to end at 236.60 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) down 2.16% or 0.43 points to 19.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 4.43% to 117.90, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was up 4.16% to settle at 90.15 and K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which gained 3.50% to close at 11.39.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.69% to 44.90 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 3.46% to settle at 29.60 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.70% to 42.52 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which rose 4.04% to 21.90, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 2.24% to settle at 11.87 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.49% to close at 36.80.
The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.91% to 108.00 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 3.69% to settle at 44.90 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 3.46% to 29.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 323 to 283 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.35% or 0.57 to 17.60. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.15% or 0.36 to 17.08. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.69% or 1.72 to 44.90. Shares in Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) fell to 3-year lows; losing 3.46% or 1.06 to 29.60. Shares in Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.70% or 1.18 to 42.52. Shares in Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.91% or 4.40 to 108.00. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.69% or 1.72 to 44.90. Shares in Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) fell to 3-year lows; falling 3.46% or 1.06 to 29.60.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.80% to 16.82 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.15% or 3.90 to $2,682.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.91% or 0.70 to hit $76.60 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.73 to trade at $80.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 109.23.
