Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Food & Beverage and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.59% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.59%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 4.36% or 1.06 points to trade at 25.36 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 2.67% or 0.63 points to end at 24.05 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 2.49% or 0.90 points to 37.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG), which fell 2.69% or 10.00 points to trade at 362.40 in late trade. Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) declined 1.14% or 0.44 points to end at 37.56 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) down 1.04% or 3.40 points to 323.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 11.25% to 7.65, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 6.46% to settle at 2.73 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which gained 3.38% to close at 50.40.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 8.21% to 22.57 in late trade, RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which lost 2.99% to settle at 58.01 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which was down 2.43% to 156.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 11.25% to 7.65, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 6.21% to settle at 35.92 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which gained 2.26% to close at 68.00.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.00% to 73.50 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which lost 1.20% to settle at 132.00 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.14% to 37.56 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 370 to 233 and 37 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.36% or 1.06 to 25.36.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.87% to 23.25.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.32% or 43.69 to $3,349.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.24% or 0.74 to hit $60.65 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.19% or 0.75 to trade at $63.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 100.13.
