Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the DAX Chemicals, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.51%, while the MDAX index gained 0.56%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 2.32% or 1.60 points to trade at 70.64 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) added 1.87% or 0.81 points to end at 44.16 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 1.54% or 3.30 points to 217.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 0.75% or 2.00 points to trade at 265.00 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 0.57% or 0.16 points to end at 28.11 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) down 0.32% or 0.08 points to 25.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 3.72% to 22.28, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 2.96% to settle at 3.24 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 2.40% to close at 29.00.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.69% to 5.54 in late trade, Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which lost 1.45% to settle at 5.71 and Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 1.05% to 893.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 2.40% to 29.00, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 2.18% to settle at 16.90 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.95% to close at 13.56.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.69% to 5.54 in late trade, PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which lost 1.24% to settle at 12.78 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.32% to 25.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 387 to 209 and 37 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.41% to 14.20.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.19% or 4.85 to $2,545.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.04% or 0.76 to hit $72.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.61 to trade at $76.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.05.
