Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Consumer & Cyclical and DAX Food & Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.49%, while the MDAX index gained 0.92%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 7.08% or 1.96 points to trade at 29.58 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 2.52% or 5.30 points to end at 215.60 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) was up 2.11% or 4.15 points to 200.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 2.75% or 0.66 points to trade at 23.35 in late trade. Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) declined 1.62% or 0.92 points to end at 55.74 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (ETR:MUVGn) down 1.24% or 7.60 points to 603.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.38% to 11.08, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 4.22% to settle at 128.40 and RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which gained 3.19% to close at 48.99.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.38% to 15.76 in late trade, Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which lost 1.33% to settle at 51.80 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 1.18% to 6.36 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 7.08% to 29.58, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was up 5.40% to settle at 58.60 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 4.38% to close at 11.08.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 1.41% to 66.65 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 1.38% to settle at 15.76 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.40% to 32.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 397 to 221 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.93% to 24.88.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.49% or 49.20 to $3,343.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $62.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $66.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 99.29.
