Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the DAX Technology, DAX Food & Beverage and DAX Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.22%, while the MDAX index added 0.70%, and the TecDAX index added 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.46% or 1.01 points to trade at 30.20 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 2.91% or 1.01 points to end at 35.50 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.55% or 1.38 points to 55.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe), which fell 2.19% or 0.90 points to trade at 40.21 in late trade. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 1.95% or 1.30 points to end at 65.42 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) down 1.83% or 1.78 points to 95.64.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.48% to 8.98, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 4.85% to settle at 11.46 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 4.60% to close at 70.50.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 4.82% to 23.70 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 4.27% to settle at 34.08 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 1.45% to 39.32 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.48% to 8.98, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 4.85% to settle at 11.46 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.91% to close at 35.50.
The worst performers were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 2.41% to 68.80 in late trade, IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which lost 1.64% to settle at 24.00 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 1.45% to 39.32 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 312 to 292 and 30 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The DAX New Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.01% to 16.38.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.76% or 21.86 to $2,897.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.10% or 1.53 to hit $71.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.94% or 1.48 to trade at $74.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 107.28.
