Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the CAC Consumer Goods, CAC Financials and CAC Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the CAC Utilities, CAC General Financial and CAC Industrial Engineering sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.71%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.61%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 5.52% or 0.57 points to trade at 10.89 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 3.07% or 2.32 points to end at 78.00 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.54% or 2.75 points to 110.85 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which fell 1.01% or 1.34 points to trade at 131.96 in late trade. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) declined 0.93% or 0.92 points to end at 98.14 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) down 0.90% or 0.09 points to 9.91.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 21.99% to 0.89, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 9.02% to settle at 1.98 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 6.17% to close at 12.53.

The worst performers were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 1.71% to 344.00 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 1.16% to settle at 8.16 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) which was down 1.01% to 131.96 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 317 to 174 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

Shares in Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.52% or 0.57 to 10.89.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.89% or 44.95 to $2,424.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.50% or 0.41 to hit $82.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.30 to trade at $85.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 104.11.
