Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the CAC Basic Materials, CAC Oil & Gas and CAC Health Care sectors led shares higher while losses in the CAC Utilities, CAC Health Care Equipment & Services and CAC Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 5.29% or 9.55 points to trade at 190.00 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 1.79% or 0.61 points to end at 34.64 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.70% or 1.28 points to 76.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 3.47% or 0.91 points to trade at 25.20 in late trade. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 3.10% or 1.23 points to end at 38.50 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) down 3.02% or 0.43 points to 13.68.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which rose 6.31% to 19.88, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 6.04% to settle at 10.71 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) which gained 5.29% to close at 190.00.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 6.61% to 6.92 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 6.42% to settle at 40.80 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which was down 5.18% to 8.06 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 280 to 201 and 106 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) fell to 3-year lows; falling 3.47% or 0.91 to 25.20. Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.02% or 0.43 to 13.68. Shares in Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.18% or 0.44 to 8.06.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 8.00 to $2,540.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.35% or 2.99 to hit $65.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.80% or 2.73 to trade at $69.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
